Dench as "M"
One of Dench's more visible modern roles has been "M," James Bond's superior, in the popular series of spy films. Dench first appeared as M in the 1995 Bond film Goldeneye, opposite Pierce Brosnan as the infamous secret agent. Dench is the first female to portray the shadowy MI6 officer. The role was originally played by Bernard Lee in the first 11 Bond films; he was replaced in 1983's Octopussy' by Robert Brown.Categories
