Jeff Peckman met with the city council in Denver, Colorado on May 30, 2008, and proposed the establishment of an 18-member Extraterrestrial Affairs Commission that would help ensure public safety, when the need arises.
Peckman has also screened a video that allegedly shows an alien looking through a window at a press conference at Metropolitan State College.

Alien Affairs Commission
Jeff Peckman must collect 4,000 signatures in the next 180 days to get his initiative will on the ballot.The Extraterrestrial Affairs Commission would deal with issues relating to the presence of extraterrestrial beings on Earth.
Peckman has a history of proposing unusual ballot measures. In 2003 he authored the "Safety Through Peace" initiative. It would have required the city of Denver to implement stress-reduction techniques but it only garnered 32% of the vote and wasn't approved.
Stan Romanek
On May 30, 2008, Peckman presented video evidence, gathered from Stan Romanek, of an alien encounter. Romanek is said to have had the most scientifically documented human/extraterrestrial encounters in the world.Romanek is set to air a documentary containing the video and an agreement is in place limiting the film's exposure during negotiations for the documentary.
The video was shot on July 17, 2003, in Nebraska.

The video was presented to select media in a private screening on May 30, 2008.The press conference was not was not allowed to be filmed or viewed by the public. The press in attendance had to sign a waiver.
