James Cameron is known for his work as a writer, director, and producer of primarily Science Fiction and Action-Adventure films. His films, most notably Titanic and the Terminator Franchise, have been both innovative and commercially successful. The films he has directed have generated an estimated $3 billion in revenue. He won three Academy Awards for his work on Titanic in 1997. His work generally deals with the relationships between humans and technology. His films have also been motivated by the idea of a nuclear holocaust and Cameron's personal interest in deep sea exploration. Recently, he has been working as a Documentary filmmaker, producing 3-D Imax films about deep sea exploration.
Cameron's newest project is Avatar, an epic Sci-Fi movie about humans invading a remote planet called Pandora. Avatar is set to be released December 18, 2009.
