• Fox's second annual American Idol special fund raising event Idol Gives Back aired on April 9 2008, hosted by Ryan Seacrest and guest co-host Ellen DeGeneres.

  Performers included Miley Cyrus, Carrie Underwood, Mariah Carey, Daughtry, Snoop Dogg Annie Lennox, Maroon 5, Fergie Fantasia and Elliot Yamin.

  Presidential hopefuls Barack Obama, Hillary Rodham Clinton, and John McCain also made videos for the event.
