• Hypoglycemia is when there is a lower then normal amount of sugar in the blood. People with both type I diabetes and type II diabetes are most at risk, but anyone can exhibit symptoms.
    1. Also called Low Blood Sugar
    2. Symptoms: hunger, dizziness, confusion, fatigue
    3. Can occur as a side effect of diabetes medications that lower blood glucose
    4. Causes: skipping meals, increased activity, alcohol consumption
    5. Can occur at any age
    6. Serious complication: coma
