The storm's path continued north-northwest with sustained winds of 50 miles per hour. Storm tides of up to three feet are anticipated in landfall areas. Fay Makes Landfall
On August 19, 2008, Tropical Storm Fay made its second landfall in the state of Florida. After hitting Key West, Florida on August 18, the storm came ashore near Marco Island, Florida on the morning of August 19. Despite warnings from the National Hurricane Center that Fay could reach hurricane strength by the time it reached the U.S. mainland, Fay remained a tropical storm as it moved across south Florida.Categories
