Early Life
Hugh John Mungo Grant was born in London, England on September 9, 1960. He attended Wetherby School, then would moved on to Latymer Upper School. He would study english literature at the New College, OxfordFilm Career
Grant started his career in British television and independent films. He would first garner national attention for his role as Chopin in the indie hit Impromptu starring Judy Davis and in the Roman Polanski film Bitter Moon. In 1994, he would appear in his breakthrough role in the Academy Award nominated film Four Weddings and a Funeral. He has since established himself as a staple of Hollywood Romantic comedies with appearances in such films as Nine Months with Julianne Moore, Notting Hill with Julia Roberts, About A Boy with Rachel Weisz and Bridget Jones's Diary with Renee Zellweger.Scandal
On June 27, 1995, Grant was arrested for misdemeanour lewd Conduct in a public place with a prostitute, Divine Brown. He would appear on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno where he famously stated "I think you know in life what's a good thing to do and what's a bad thing, and I did a bad thing..and there you have it.".
