• The University of Houston football team plays college football as a member of the Conference USA. Known by their nickname the Cougars, the team plays their home games at Robertson Stadium on campus in Houston, Texas. The team has won a total of 10 conference championships in three different leagues, the most recent in 2006. The program has also produced one Heisman Trophy winner, Andre Ware in 1989.

  • The Ware House

    Though they play home games on campus, the program once had larger prestige and played games at The Astrodome. Ware was recruited to be Quarterback|quarterback the same year the program hired Jack Pardee to be the head coach and install his Run and Shoot Offense. The results were amazing, and the dome became known during Cougar games as "The Ware House". Other great players in Cougars history include David Klingler, Hosea Taylor, Kimble Anders, Robert Newhouse, Riley Odoms, Warren McVea, Pat Studstill, Elmo Wright, Dickie Post, Wade Phillips and Antowain Smith.
