• Career Background

  Mol's first work on-screen was in a Coca-Cola commercial, which she landed after being noticed while working as a hatcheck girl in New York City by a talent agent. She worked as a model during this period as well, sometimes posing in shots inspired by Bettie Page, whom she'd later portray.

  In 1998, Mol was cast opposite Matt Damon in Rounders and received a lot of attention in the press, even getting a Vanity Fair covering labeling her as "the It Girl."

  After some of Mol's initial films failed to capture the audience attention or win her more work, she played the role of Jennie on stage in writer-director Neil LaBute's 2001 play The Shape of Things and reprised the role in the 2003 film version.

  Mol's career picked up after 2006's The Notorious Bettie Page, and she made four films in 2007, including the big-budget remake of 10 to Yuma and the low-budget indie comedy The Ten.
