• George Lopez is a Mexican-American comedian and actor. He became a popular stand-up comedian, especially among the Latino community, for his satirization of Mexican-American life and culture in the United States. He became better known for his comedy hit TV series The George Lopez Show that aired from 2002-2007 and now airs re-runs on Nick at Nite.

  • Early Life and Career

    George Lopez was born in Mission Hills in Los Angeles, California on April 23, 1961. He attended San Fernando Middle School. He used his troubled childhood as material for his stand-up comedy acts. In 2000, he went on to start a new show appropriately named The George Lopez Show, after actress Sandra Bullock came to him about the idea.
