• History

  Gatorade was created after the coach for the University of Florida was frustrated that his team was not performing well due to heat during the summers. Dr. Robert Cade and his team found a mixture of water, sodium, sugar, potassium, phosphate, and lemon juice, which worked well to keep the players hydrated, allowing them to win the first Orange Bowl. Because the drink was made was the Florida Gators, they named it Gatorade.
