• Acting Career

  A member of the American National Theater and Academy during the 1960s, Dunaway appeared on stage and Broadway before moving on to film in 1967. Bonnie and Clyde earned her an Oscar nomination for her portrayal of Bonnie Parker.

  She continued her streak of successful films with Chinatown and Network, for which she won an Oscar for Best Actress in 1977.

  Though most of her accolades have come for films in the 1970s, Dunaway won Golden Globe Awards for performances in the '80s and '90s, most recently for Gia. She received an Emmy for a featured role in an episode of Columbo in 1994.
