Career Summary
- Thompson's career began with appearances on several British television shows such as There's Nothing to Worry Abbout!, Tutti Frutti and Thompson. She made her feature film debut in the Jeff Goldblum vehicle The Tall Guy. Thompson followed that up with her then-husband's, Kenneth Branagh, film adaptation of the William Shakespeare play, Henry V. In 1992, Thompson received her first Academy Award for her role in Howard's End . She has another Academy Award for writing the screen adaptation Sense and Sensibility.
