Background
Since the age of 10, Page acted in various Canadian TV shows and films before getting the lead role in Hard Candy, a psychological thriller about a girl who takes advantage of a sexual predator. The film, and Page's performance in particular, were praised by critics.The following year, Page played Kitty Pryde in X-Men: The Last Stand before starring in her signature role (to date) as the title character in the critically acclaimed comedy Juno.
Page's portrayal as the sharp-tongued Juno MacGuff earned her "Best Actress" nominations at both the 2008 Academy Awards and Golden Globes. She also won "Best Actress" at the Independent Spirit Awards.
In 2008, she appeared in Smart People, and is slated to appear in Drew Barrymore's [[Whip It!]] as well as playing Jane Eyre in a film adaptation of the novel.
