    Elizabeth Jane Hurley was born in Basingstoke, Hampshire, in England on June 10, 1965. She attended Kempshott Junior School and then Harriet Costello School. She would later attend college at Queen Mary's College and Baskingstoke College of Technology.

    Although Hurley first made national headlines for being the girlfriend of Hugh Grant during his prostitute scandal. Hurley was able to overcome the negative press and establish herself as a respected actress after her lucrative modeling career. Her first big budget Hollywood film would be in the Wesley Snipes star vehicle Passenger 57. She would follow that up with work in other films such as Permanent Midnight starring Ben Stiller, and the thriller Dangerous Ground. In 1997 she would star in the Mike Myers box office hit Austin Powers. She has since appeared in the films The Weight of Water, Bedazzled, with Brendan Fraser and Serving Sara with Matthew Perry.
