History
The 2007-08 Conference Championship game was held in the FedExForum in Memphis, Tennessee. Tigers reached the Elite Eight and won three straight conference tournament title, in 2006, 2007 and 2008. The Tigers defeated Tulsa Golden Hurricane in the Conference finals 77-51 in the 2007-08 season, the Houston Cougars in 2007, and UAB Blazers in the 2006 Conference Tournament Championships.The team is led by head coach John Calipari, and First-Team All American Chris Douglas-Roberts and Derrick Rose. They are the number one seed in the 2008 NCAA Tournament defeating Texas-Arlington, The Mississippi State, and Michigan State in the Sweet Sixteen, Texas in the Elite Eight. They advance to the Final Four and defeated the UCLA advancing to the National Championship to face the Kansas, the Jayhawks win in overtime 75-68.
