    Wildfires in Boulder County, Colorado, prompted evacuation warnings for more than 11,000 residents on January 7, 2009. By the following morning, reports said flames had destroyed several homes in the Niwot community, and fire crews estimated the blaze was about 30 percent contained.     On April 15, 2008, wildfires in Colorado caused the evacuation of the towns of Ordway and Carbondale, as well as a voluntary evacuation of Fort Carson. Three people died in the fires.
