  Christopher Plummer began his stage career in Montreal, but soon moved on to perform in New York City, London and Paris. He acted in Britain with the National Theatre under Sir Laurence Olivier, with the Royal Shakespeare Company, and in many award-winning West End productions. In the United States, he won two Tony Awards for his Broadway work. He has also acted at Canada's renowned Stratford Festival.

  Plummer's breakthrough film role was as Captain Von Trapp in The Sound of Music. He starred in many notable prestige projects, such as The Man Who Would Be King and A Beautiful Mind, as well as more mainstream notable projects like Twelve Monkeys and The Insider, but did not consider himself above turns in popcorn fare such as National Treasure and Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, where he played opposite fellow Canadian-born actor (and Stratford Festival alumn) William Shatner.
