    Cher met Sonny Bono in a coffee shop when she was just 16 years old, in November of 1962. At that time, Bono was 27 years old and worked as a record producer for Phil Spector. They became friends and were later married. Between 1971 and 1974, they had their own show, The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour. Sonny and Cher divorced and parted ways in 1975. Sonny later entered politics and Cher went on to have a successful solo career.
