Cape Verde - Mahalo

Cape Verde is a nation made up of 10 islands off the western coast of Africa. The terrain is rugged, rocky and volcanic. The islands are 310 miles from the African mainland. Cape Verde's population of less than a half million (as of 2007), is over 70% Creole: a mix of African and European (mainly Portuguese).

History
