• "Toto" from 'The Wizard of Oz

  Toto was a five year old female cairn terrier. Her real name was Terry owed by Carl Spitz. Terry's/Toto's played one of the most most important dog roles since the Rin Tin Tin. Hundreds of dogs tested for the role before the studio decided on Terry.

  Terry/Toto career began in 1936 and after the filming of The Wizard of Oz Terry went on making appearances in 12 other films. Her career lasted until 1942.
