- Leaf: Organ with a large surface area that is well suited for capturing sunlight during photosynthesis
- Photosynthesis: Chemical process that creates oxygen and carbohydrates from water, sun light and carbon dioxide
- Flower: The reproductive structure found in some plants where pollination and fertilization take place
- Cell Wall: A firm outer layer that surrounds plant cells and is not found in animal cells
- Mycology: Subfield of botany that focuses on fungi
