Ball State University History
Ball State University was established as Indiana State Normal School Eastern Division in 1918. The school was renamed Ball Teachers College in 1922, to honor Frank C. Ball and his family. The Ball family were the original benefactors that purchased, then donated, the land and buildings to the state of Indiana.
