Symptoms
Individuals with Asperger syndrome usually have an average to an above average vocabulary and intelligence. They have problems with social interactions and may not respond to social cues or the feelings of others. They may be somewhat clumsy and may have a strange accent or tone in their speech. Affected individuals may have difficultly expressing how they feel. Many symptoms can present strongly or weakly in each individual.WebMD: Asperger's Syndrome The most distinguishing symptom of an individual affected with AS is the intense preoccupation in a single object or topic to the exclusion of all others. Another common symptom is the avoidance of eye contact (although this may also be cultural). -
