24-year-old Indian native Arpana Jinaga was found dead in her apartment in Seattle, where she was studying for her Master of Science degree and working as a software engineer. According to the Indian media, Jinaga was murdered, and the police are investigating the motive and the circumstances of the crime. Andhra Pradesh Murders
Five Indian students, all from the eastern state of Andhra Pradesh, were murdered during a period of less than two years in the United States. The victims are: Ph.D. students Chandrasekhar Reddy Komma and Kiran Kumar Allam, murdered in Louisiana, the cousins T Soumya Reddy and Vikram Reddy, murdered in Chicago, and A Srinivas, murdered in Pennsylvania.
