• Anthony Geary is an American actor who many consider to be the leading man in the world of soap operas. He is the actor who plays the role of Luke Spencer on the daytime drama General Hospital.

  In 1978 Geary joined ABC's daytime soap opera General Hospital playing the role of Luke Spencer. In 1981 his marriage to Genie Francis, who plays the role of Laura Spencer, became one of the most memorable episodes from the series. They became the first power couple of daytime television. One critic said, "Geary's individualism, uniqueness and awesome range is the most notable in daytime television history." In 1981, and four times since, he has won an Emmy for Outstanding Actor in a Daytime Drama Series. He is in second place for most Emmy wins for a single character trailing behind Erika Slezak from One Life to Live.
