  Prior to her acting career, Faris graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in literature. After smaller roles in independent films, Faris starred in the 2000 comedic parody film Scary Movie. She continued with the franchise, starring in three additional Scary Movie films, most recently Scary Movie 4 in 2006. Along the way she appeared as a recurring character on the popular television show Friends and alongside Rob Schneider in The Hot Chick.
