  • American Idol Audition

At his American Idol audition, Von Smith sang his own version of the song "Somewhere Over The Rainbow." At the close of the song, Smith let out a tear, and awkward silence filled the room. Judge Randy Jackson started the feedback with "you've definitely got a voice, I think you can sing. I was impressed." Simon Cowell added "I like you Von, and I bet your family loves it when you do that. I have to tell you, you've got a good voice on." After a bit of deliberation, all four judges voted yes for him to continue on for the next phase of auditions in Hollywood.Photobucket Video: Von Smith American Idol Audition (Time: 3:39)
