Voivod is an innovative metal band from Quebec, Canada. Over the course of its decades-long career, the band has experimented with elements of hardcore, new wave, thrash, progressive rock and speed metal, melding them all into an identifiably unique sound. The band's influence can be heard in acts as wide-ranging as Tool and the underground death metal group Myopia. One famous Voivod fan, former Metallica bassist Jason Newsted, actually joined the band in 2002.
