On March 18, 2008 Visa priced its initial public offering at $17.9 billion, or $44 a share making it the largest IPO ever. The previous record was held by AT&T; Wireless at $11 billion. Visa has been approved to list its shares on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol "V". Visa plans to use about $10.2 billion in proceeds to redeem shares held by selling stakeholders that include JP Morgan Chase, Bank of America, Citigroup and National City Corp.
