The University of Virginia football team plays college football as a member of the Coastal Division of the Atlantic Coast Conference. Known by their nickname the Cavaliers, the team plays their home games at Scott Stadium on campus in Charlottesville. The team has won three conference championships, the most recent in 1995.

Having a Cavalier Attitude
The Cavaliers were led by head coach George Welsh for 19 seasons, the longest tenure in the modern era of the school. The Cavs have appeared in 16 bowl games, most recently the 2008 Gator Bowl. The current head coach is Virginia alum Al Groh, and the school was recently honored with Chris Long being drafted second overall in the 2008 NFL draft.
