Vinegar is a liquid that is made as a result of the oxidation of ethanol in wine, fruit, beer or any liquid that contains alcohol. This process forms acetic acid which is what lends vinegar a tart sharp taste and strong smell.
Vinegar is a key ingredient in many household cleaners and herbicides and is used as a medicinal aid in home remedies and treatments.
