Vincent D'Onofrio is an American actor and producer known for his roles as Detective Robert Goren in the NBC drama Law & Order: Criminal Intent and as Pvt. Pyle in Stanley Kubrick's Full Metal Jacket. He next stars alongside Val Kilmer, Linda Cardellini and Christopher Walken in the 2010 film The Irishman.
Acting Career
D'Onofrio made his Broadway debut with the production of Open Admissions. He later became famous for his role in the film Full Metal Jacket as the character of Private Leonard Lawrence. He has since played in Adventures in Babysitting, Ed Wood, Men in Black, Steal This Movie, The Cell, Homicide: Life on the Street and Law & Order: Criminal Intent. His more recent works include The Salton Sea, Case of Evil, Thumbsucker, The Break Up and The Narrows.
Background
D'Onofrio attended the American Stanislavsky Theatre in New York City where he studied acting, and in 1991, D'Onofrio married actress Greta Scacchi. The couple had a daughter together named Leila George. They divorced in 1993. On March 22, 1997, he married Carin van der Donk. They have two children named Elias and Luca. D'Onofrio co-founded the River Run International Film Festival in Winston Salem, North Carolina with his father in 1998. He currently lives in New York.
