  • Vikram Pandit is the current CEO of Citigroup, a major financial services corporation. He is the first Indian to be named the head of a major American financial institution.

    On February 11, 2009, Pandit told the House Committee on Financial Services in a testimony that he received $1 million compensation for 2008.   • Life and Career

    Vikram Pandit was born in Nagpur, Maharashtra, India, and attended high school in Mumbai. He moved to America when he was sixteen and subsequently attended Columbia University for his undergraduate degree as well as his Masters, his MBA and his PhD.

    He began his professional career as a professor and soon moved into Morgan Stanley, where he stayed for two decades. His next venture was a hedge fund called Old Lane Partners, which was acquired by Citigroup. On December 11, 2007 he was made CEO of Citigroup.
