Story Line
Viking: Battle for Asgard is an action-adventure video game released on March 25, 2008 based on Norse Mythology. Gameplay features hack-and-slash, similar to previous Creative Assembly action games like Spartan: Total Warrior, but considerably more graphic and violent. Hel, daughter of Loki, the Norse god of mischief, has been banished from Asgard for defying Odin. As an act of retribution, she attempts to release Fenrir, the wolf-gold, with her army of resurrected Viking warriors. According to legend, his release will trigger Ragnarok, an apocalyptic battle that will destroy Asgard and the gods. Freya, the Norse goddess of love and war, is assigned to stop Hel and defend the future of mankind. To aid in her task, she selects Skarin, a great but troubled young warrior, as her champion. -
