Viewtiful Joe is a 2003 Beat-'Em-Up/action game developed by Capcom for the GameCube. The game takes place in "Movieland," where Joe must use his amazing powers to rescue his girlfriend.

Story
Joe and his girlfriend Silvia are peacefully watching a movie in a theater when Silvia is sucked into the movie screen by a robot called Six Majin. She is taken into “Movieland,” an animated world full of robots called the Jadow. Joe dives into Movieland after Silvia, where he encounters Captain Blue, a benevolent superhero in a blue suit. Captain Blue teaches Joe how to fight, and gives him a V-Watch, which enables Joe to transform into a superhero and perform amazing attacks.Gameplay
Veiwtiful Joe mixes gameplay from the platformer and Beat-'Em-Up genres, similar to both the Mega Man and Double Dragon games. You progress from left to right across the screen, eliminating enemies as they appear and fighting bosses at the end of levels. As the game progresses you learn new moves for Joe, such as the ability to zoom in, to slow down time, and move at super speed.
