A video photo montage is an enhanced slideshow of single photographs with added effects, transitions and a musical background created by a photograher or computer artist.. Video photo montages are often made in time lines showing a chronological story of a person's life in order to save memories. Montages are also used in business or sports to show instruction for learning a procedure.
Background
Montages came from the French and were originally from film shots but a Video Photo Montage evolved from single photographs taken by a photograher.. A photomontage is a process of cutting and joining many photographs into a composite of a single picture which is often photographed and printed. Out of this process came a scrapbook art know as the collage. Then home projects evolved with single photographs being edited and enhanced through photo editing programs such as Photoshop. Special effects, such as zooming, edging and cloning parts of the original print might be added with the photos before they are placed in a story telling order within a movie making program such as Windows Movie Maker, Pinnacle or the web program One True Media. Once the pictures are in place then transitions are added after each picture to add movement to the story line. These transitions would be circles, flips, spirals etc where the picture after being shown on the sreen would circle, flip or spiral around to show the next picture. Music is then added to the montage to match the pictures of the montage.. Beginning, ending or in between picture text shots can also be created to add further interest. Since digital photograph came out the video photo montage has become very popular for recording of or entertaining at weddings, birthdays, funerals and other personal occasions for lasting memories.
