  • Video Game Deal Guide

There are several sites out there that aggregate information about video games and hardware on sale. A new site that does a great job at this is GameSnob. Its design is very simple and to the point, but that's exactly what I like about it! Also, GameSnob doesn't just list games that are on sale at all the big sites (Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop, etc.), but also includes videos and reviews from the top review sites, such as GameSpot, IGN and GameSpy. Check it out! All video games currently on sale are conveniently presented on a single page. They also have video game information and deals for specific game genres. For example, check out Top Sports Games and Deals or Top Action Games and Deals. Finally, GameSnob has a pretty neat way to sort video game deals that I haven't seen anywhere else. They use something called the "Snob Factor", a single score that combines the percentage of the current price drop, the game's average review rating and the age of the game. Sort of like the "value" of a game. It doesn't matter if a crappy game is 50% off -- it's still a crappy game. It also doesn't matter much if a great game is 3% off: you still don't save that much. However, when a great game that's relatively new is significantly below the regular price, you got a great deal and a high "Snob Factor". Check out an explanation on the GameSnob FAQ.
