Veropedia is an online encyclopedia that finds articles posted on Wikipedia, cleans them up, checks them for accuracy, and posts the verified articles. It is a closed site, meaning users cannot edit articles the way they can on Wikipedia, which helps keeps the articles accurate. Veropedia has more than 4,500 entries that are checked for accuracy by professionals. Only people who work for Veropedia are allowed to edit the articles once they are completed. As of January, 2009, Veropedia's Web site stated that the older version of Veropedia had been taken down while version 2 of the site was being developed. No date for the version 2 launch was provided. http://www.veropedia.com/ Veropedia]
Wikipedia Accuracy Problems
Wikipedia has often been criticized for the ease by which anyone can edit entries. The open nature of Wikipedia has led several companies, including Veropedia, to introduce versions of wikipedia in which the factual accuracy in articles is verified by professionals or independent sources.
