Veronica Varekova

Veronica Varekova is a Czech supermodel who has had several contracts with major companies, including Victoria's Secret, Guess?, and Pantene. She has been featured eight times in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition, and appeared (unwittingly) as a Maxim cover model.

Varekova made the June 2006 cover of Maxim, clad in only panties, stockings and heels, her breasts obscured by the camera angle. According to Varekova, however, she had never given approval for Maxim to use the photo, which originally appeared in a Victoria's Secret fashion spread for British GQ. The picture had been licensed to Maxim by Bill Gates' digital imaging company Corbis. While Varekova did not object to the photo itself, she was unhappy with the context, telling the press that she was not a fan of Maxim. On the cover, she appears next to a large headline reading "Sex!"
