Vermouth

Vermouth is a fortified white wine flavored with aromatic herbs. It was originally created by adding botanicals to cheap wine to improve its flavor, but soon became a popular aperitif.

White Vermouth

White vermouth, also known as French or bianco vermouth, is much drier than its red counterpart and is a key ingredient in the classic martini.

Red Vermouth

Red, sweet, or Italian vermouth is closer to the original recipe since it is sweetened and usually contains more aromatic flavoring herbs. Red vermouth can be served over ice before or after a meal and is used to make a Manhattan martini.
