Vera Wang is a fashion designer known for her high end bridal collection which launched in 1990. Today, Wang has crossed into apparel, footwear, fragrance, eyewear, and home furnishings.

Early Career
After studying at The Chapin School in Paris, Wang majored in art history at Sarah Lawrence College. She also explored skating and although she competed in the U.S. Figure Skating Championships in 1968, did not make the Olympic team. As her dreams to become a skater ended, her interest in fashion began. Starting as a fashion editor for Vogue, she soon worked for Ralph Lauren as a design director. By 1990 she opened her own design shop for bridal gowns.
The Buzz
Wang has designed wedding gowns for an extensive range of celebrities including silver medalist Nancy Kerrigan, actresses Jennifer Garner and Sharon Stone, and singer Mariah Carey.
