Velvet Revolver is a popular Hard Rock band made up of ex-members of Guns N' Roses. Scott Weiland, of the band Stone Temple Pilots, was the group's frontman until 2008.

Career
The band formed in 2002 after three of the founding members of Guns N' Roses played a concert together for a fellow musicians. After deciding to form a band, the three went on to audition a lead singer - a process which was documented on the television show VH1 Inside Out: The Rise of Velvet Revolver. After deciding on former Stone Temple Pilots frontman Scott Weiland as their singer, the band released their debut album, Contraband in 2004. The album was well-received and the band went on to record a follow up in 2007.Weiland Fired
In 2008, the members of Velvet Revolver announced that they were parting ways with Weiland due to increasingly erratic behavior. The group have not yet found a replacement for the singer.-
