Varsha Sabhnani and her husband Mahendar were convicted of holding their two housekeepers as slaves.
Sentencing

On June 26, 2008, Sabhnani was sentenced to 11 years in prison. This is in addition to a $25,000 fine and three years of probation. The charges against her included conspiracy, forced labor, involuntary servitude and harboring aliens.
