History
Originally, Vanity Fair was a men's fashion magazine known as Dress. The first issue was published in 1913. After just four issue it was renamed Dress and Vanity Fair. In 1914, is was renamed to Vanity Fair.Vanity Fair was published from 1914 to 1936. During that time, contributors to the magazine included Dorothy Parker, Gertrude Stein, Aldous Huxley, T. S. Eliot and D. H. Lawrence. In 1936, during the Great Depression, Vanity Fair was folded into Vogue Magazine due to low advertising revenue.
Under new ownership, Conde Nast Publications revived the magazine in 1983. Today, Vanity Fair is published in the U.K., Spain, Germany, Italy and the U.S.
