The 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, BC begin on February 12th, 2010 and will run until February 28th. During this time, many local residents will be renting out their homes and rooms in order to help accommodate the international travelers who will be in the area.
If you are booking your Olympic trip late, or find that all the hotels you call are completely booked, renting a home may be something you'll want to look into. Although most rental prices have been inflated due to the immense demand, keep in mind that staying in a rental home, rather than a hotel may help you save money, since you'll be able to cook your own food in the rental property, rather than having to eat all your meals at restaurants. -
Location, Location, Location
When looking into Olympic rental homes, consider which events you plan on attending before booking your rental. Visitors with tickets to the skiing events which will be held in Whister, can save a great deal of travel time by renting a property in Whistler Village or nearby Pemberton. Those who are attending events, such as speed skating, figure skating and hockey can avoid the hassle of driving through traffic and finding parking by booking rentals in downtown Vancouver.
