The battleship USS Arizona was sunk by Japanese bombers in the attack on Pearl Harbor. 1,177 men perished when the ship sunk, and the wreckage was never recovered from the bottom of Pearl Harbor. The USS Arizona serves as a memorial to the tragic attack.

USS Arizona Memorial
Dedicated in 1962, the USS Arizona Memorial is located on top of the actual wreckage, spanning the hull of the sunken ship. The USS Arizona is classified not only as a decommissioned U.S. Navy battleship, but is also considered an active military cemetery. It Commemorates the military personnel killed during the December 7th attacks.
