Heisman candidate Mark Sanchez was able to bring the Trojans back within seven points, scoring two touchdowns in the third quarter. Each team recorded a touchdown in the fourth quarter. Oregon State scored first, but failed to complete the two-point conversion, leaving the score at 27-14. USC rallied in the last minutes of the game, scoring a touchdown with 1:19 left. Following the score, the Trojans attempted an onside kick, but the Beavers were able to recover the ball.
