  • The U.S. Open is the final Grand Slam tennis tournament of the year. The other three include the Australian Open, The French Open and Wimbledon. The U.S. Open takes place at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, Flushing, New York.

  • Andy Roddick Wins 500th Career Match

    Andy Roddick won his 500th career match at the Legg Mason Tennis Classic in August 2009.     Andy Roddick announced earlier this summer that he would not play in the Davis Cup quarter final round in Croatia (claiming a hip flexor injury) and also bowed out of the July Indianapolis ATP event. He announced via Twitter that he would enter the Legg Mason Tennis Classic, according to USOpenseries.com, Roddick wrote on his Twitter feed on July 21st, 2009: "keep getting asked when my next tourney will be.... i will see all of u in washington in two weeks."
