The United States sent four athletes, plus two alternates, to compete in the modern pentathlon at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China. The events were held on August 21 and August 22, 2008, at the Olympic Sports Center Stadium, Ying Tung Natatorium and the Olympic Green Convention Centre.
The modern pentathlon consists of five events reminiscent of the original Ancient Olympics. Athletes compete in running, swimming, equestrian, fencing and shooting.
